Marjaana Sivonen is an innovative and artistic 48-year-old graphic designer, content producer and illustrator living in eastern Finland. Marjaana began studying illustration in the University of Plymouth in England in her early twenties. However, instead of a BA she came back home with a husband and a little baby. Because art and looking after young children don't mix so well Marjaana spent 17 years teaching English and art in Ilomantsi Sixth Form College and Upper Comprehensive School.
In 2019 Marjaana returned to the world of art and graphic design in the University of Lapland and graduated with an MA in autumn 2021. She loves the great outdoors and really enjoys illustrating landscapes, animals and plants.
Marjaana learnt to read at the age of four and has always been interested in languages. She has a very good command of both Finnish and English and enjoys all types of textual expression.
